Resilience mission
Why this problem, and why here
Keep critical aviation and emergency functions operating when the grid cannot. Small airports are frequently pressed into service as staging and coordination points during wildfires, storms and other regional emergencies — often while the surrounding grid is the least reliable it will be all year.
The problem
Grid disruption and emergency demand tend to arrive together. Wildfire, storm damage and Public Safety Power Shutoffs are exactly the conditions under which a small airport's communications, lighting and fueling support are needed most — and exactly when utility power is least dependable.
The approach
Rather than proposing full-site backup for every load, the mission is to identify the smallest set of genuinely critical functions, keep those powered through a disruption, and prove the approach through a documented demonstration before scaling it.
What this site is — and isn't
- It is a partner-formation site for a pre-development microgrid demonstration concept.
- It is not a claim of a grant award, a confirmed host, or a government endorsement.
- It is not a promise of uninterrupted operation before load and duration analysis is complete.
